FREE INVASIVE PLANT WALK, TALK and CUT
Rain or Shine
When: Saturday w August 30th
Time:10 am – 12 noon
Lunch will be provided
Cutting of Invasives will take place after the walk
Where: Scotland Library - 21 Brook Road - Scotland, CT
Charlotte Pyle and Rose Hiskes, CIPWG volunteers, will take us on a 2 hour walk along this trail and discuss the invasive species we find. Identification and management techniques for each species will be discussed. Native plants appropriate for the site will also be discussed. Please wear proper footwear for the walk and bring water. Be prepared for ticks by wearing light colored clothing and tucking your pants into your socks. Bring gloves and a pruner, if you can, help us cut barberry, Oriental bittersweet and burning bush.
We will also pick up any litter.
Attendance is limited to the first twelve people who register by August 8.
