About
Open burning of brush is permitted in Scotland, subject to state regulation. You must obtain a permit before you start your fire. Failure to obtain the permit may result in citation, and in a visit from the fire department, which will be obliged to put out your fire. The permit process will provide information about how to have a burn that will not pose a hazard to you or your neighbors.
